Corte Dei Papi

Our Corte dei Papi estate covers an area of approximately 190 hectares between the towns of Paliano and Anagni in the heart of the of the DOCG Cesanese del Piglio. The estate is nestled in between three hills, which lend their names to our different vineyards: Colletonno (“round hill” in the local dialect), Colle Ticchio and Colle Ricchezza. All our vineyards are managed organically without the use of chemicals with great attention paid to pruning, green pruning and thinnings to maintain our high standards and low yields. All grapes are hand harvested and we observe minimal intervention in the winery. We have tried to maintain a very natural approach to winemaking with very good thermal insulation, the possibility to control natural light through the windows rather than a reliance on electricity, and also allowing natural humidity to pass through the ageing areas of the winery. We have maintained the old architectural shape of the winery while still implementing some of the best modern techniques and technology: the perfect combination of tradition and modernity.
