I first had the opportunity to taste Mauricio Lorca’s Inspirado Chardonnay at ProWein this year. It expresses such a delicious panoply of fragrance and flavour I was immediately reminded of top Burgundy. Lorca has created a captivating interplay between the juiciness of ripe orchard and citrus fruit, the warmth of toasted barrel and the savouriness and texture of lees.
