Maddie Lane Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel Lodi, 2017
Cal Lodi
Grape Variety
Petite Sirah
Lodi is sometimes referred to as the “Zinfandel Capital of the World” — it has an abundance of some of the oldest Zinfandel vines in California. The 2017 has raisins and dried fig aromas. On the palate it is the lighter side of medium bodied with ripe fruit flavours and a nice juicy acidity. It is a blend of 85% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah and 5% Petite Sirah. Grapes came mainly from the family’s Thornton Ranch in the sub AVA of Jahant. The wine was matured for three months in a combination of French and American oak.
