A relatively new domaine created in 2014, Domaine de Piéblanc has 15 hectares of terraced vineyards, near the village of Suzette, at an altitude of 300 metres. Vines are in conversion to organic. A 50:50 blend of Grenache and Syrah, the 2018 was part aged for 15 months in oak barrels and has intense graphite and pencil-shaving aromas combined with red apples, tarragon and vegetal mushroom characters. The oak should integrate and mellow with time. It is medium to full bodied with sweet ripe fruits, damson jam and oaky flavours on the finish.
