Les Allées de Cantemerle is a second wine, made predominantly from grapes from younger vines on the Château Cantemerle estate. The estate was classified as one of 18 fifth-classed growths in the 1855 Classification. The 2016 Les Allées is deep in colour and characterized by delicious, mature forest floor and meaty aromas, combined with cassis, grass and a touch of smoke. It is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and was matured mainly in large oak vessels. It is light to medium-bodied, elegant with light tannins and lingering cassis flavours.
