A concentrated wine with mellow black fruit aromas, smoky bacon and some bramble leaf. It is medium-bodied, supple and smooth with a balanced acidity and good depth. Carignan was grown in two small vineyards both planted over 100 years ago. The vines’ roots are so well established that even in very dry years, the vines look lush.
They don’t produce much yield but what they do is concentrated and high in quality.
