Fresh earth and mushroom aromas combine with dark fruit. This is a medium-bodied wine with lots of depth leading to a tangy, smoky finish. Syrah was grown at two sites between Tuchan and Paziols. One vineyard is at 350 metres, the other in the valley at lower altitude. Grapes were hand harvested and fermented in small stainless steel vats in the winery. A quarter of the wine was matured in one-year-old French oak barrels.
