An immediate Coup de Coeur, this is a complex layered wine with lots of finesse. It is mellow with ripe black fruits and savoury toasty aromas with great depth. It is smooth with a rich palate and warm, ripe fruit flavours complemented by toasty vanilla oak. Vines are cultivated on steep hillsides. Domaine Pichon has five hectares of vines planted in 1985, with 75% in the middle of the slope and 25% at the top. Matured in a combination of new and older oak barrels for 12 months.
