An appealing and now fully mature Shiraz – this seems to be much more than a year older than its sibling – and the tannins – surprisingly – are melded and support the fruit. Medium intensity on the nose with cherry and plum, the palate brings vanilla, wood smoke and black pepper, and the finish starts to strut some tertiary character with leather and dried strawberry coming to the fore in a beguiling fashion. Balance, depth and concentration are all there. At its apogee now. Drink Now – MP
