Altadonna Chianti Classico DOCG Chioccioli Altadonna Family Estate, 2017

Italy

Grape Variety

Cabernet Sauvignon

Blackberries, wild herbs, rosemary and green leaf aromas mix with subtle notes of vanilla, making this a complex wine that needs more time before reaching its peak. It is smooth with a fine texture and good grip on the finish. The Altadonna vineyards are located around Gaiole and Quercegrossa in the heart of Chianti Classico. This is the personal estate of Stefano Chioccoli and his family, run by his two sons, Niccolo and Enrico. Stefano, one of the leading winemaking consultants in Italy, is continually experimenting new techniques to improve quality. Aged for 12 months in old 225-litre French barriques, it has a long bitter cherry and blackcurrant finish.
